The annual LAKMA “Christmas Family Night” concert will be held Sunday, December 12, 2021
at The Way Church, in Los Angeles. Four scholarships will be awarded to students majoring in
music, and select winners will perform during the scholarship award ceremony.

IMPORTANT DATES
• Deadline for receipt of submitted materials: October 31, 2021 Sunday
• Announcement of scholarship recipients: November 6, 2021 Saturday, by E-mail
• Concert and scholarship award ceremony: December 12, 2021 Sunday, 6:00 p.m.

QUALIFICATIONS
• College or graduate student currently majoring in music, age 19+
• Need – students who have endured economic or situational stress

DOCUMENTATION
• Performance submission with DVD or YouTube link demonstrating your skill
• Evidence of current enrollment in academic institution
• Personal story, including any economic/situational factors, 3-5 pages, and profile picture
• Resume, including name, contact information (e.g., email, phone number)
• Letter of recommendation from one who knows you well and is in a leadership position
such as a teacher, advisor or pastor

CRITERIA FOR SELECTION
• Performance skills
• Great weight is given to those who study music while overcoming difficult situations
• Three judges will evaluate musical performance and personal story

AWARDS
• Select winners will perform during “Christmas Family Night” on December 12, 2021
• Cash scholarship prizes:
o LAKMA 1stPrize: $3,000

o LAKMA 2nd Prize: $2,000

o LAKMA 3rd Prize: $1,000

o LAKMA Encouragement award: $1,000
