Formed in 2014, Women Cross DMZ is a leading organization in the movement to bring lasting peace to the Korean Peninsula. We advocate for a formal end to the Korean War and replacement of the armistice with a peace agreement, in the halls of the U.S. Congress to the United Nations. In 2015, we led 30 women peacemakers across the de-militarized zone from North Korea to South Korea, walking with 10,000 Korean women on both sides of the DMZ. We have educated millions worldwide on the urgent need for peace in Korea and women’s leadership in the peace process. We mobilize people around the world to press for peace and a diplomatic solution to the security crisis that impacts not only the Korean Peninsula but the entire region and world. We are Nobel Peace laureates, feminist authors, peace activists, human rights lawyers, professors, former parliamentarians, faith leaders, humanitarian aid workers, filmmakers, artists, a retired Army Colonel, and a recipient of the U.S. Presidential Medal of Freedom. In 2019, we launched the Korea Peace Now! campaign which has since established a dozen chapters across the United States to call on President Biden and the Congress to end the longest-standing US conflict.
